Can you believe it’s Labor Day already? Since 95% of Businesses close, this isn’t the best day to go shopping or knock out your errands. Instead of just sitting around twiddling your thumbs, we’re here to make sure you do Labor Day right and pack in the most fun possible. So here’s some ideas to keep you and your family busy and entertained!
Go For a Hike
Since Labor Day in considered the “unofficial end of summer”, head outside and soak in the last bit of warmth and sunshine. There are tons of websites that will map out all of the best hiking areas near you complete with reviews, tips, experiences, and pictures from other hikers. A couple of our favorites are Alltrails and Hiking Project. If you’re not into hiking, maybe rent a bike or even a Kayak for a different experience. So go pack up some snacks, and spend the day with Mother Nature.
Attend an Event
People are always looking for a good excuse to celebrate, and Labor Day is definitely not an exception. Search “Labor Day” on Facebook and click on events. Here in Utah I found a Labor Day Luau, Music Festival, and Flea Market! You can also visit your community page to find all of the local Labor Day Happenings.
Have a Barbecue
If you can’t find an event, consider planning one yourself! Since most of the world is off of work, I’m sure you aren’t the only one among your friends & family looking for something to do. This blog post has some fun ideas to make your party one for the books, including an outdoor movie and popcorn bar!
Plan a Staycation
Save the money you would spend on Gas and Hotels, and try out some places in your city you’ve been meaning to visit. The 2for1 app has great deals on axe throwing, escape rooms, Virtual reality, Karaoke, Trampoline Parks, and more. You could also stay home and try a new recipe, make smores over the stove, or do a fun art project. Go try something new!
Cross those last few things off of your Summer Bucket List and have a fun crazy weekend of family barbecues, massive sale events, and camping trips!
